“Most days for probably our whole lives we are surrounded by stories, but we also tell them. They are powerful and have the capacity to shape the way we act and influence the way we value ourselves- or chose not to. For close to a decade I told myself many “stories” to help me avoid confronting my insecurities, expectations, fears of failure and success.
When I finally made the decision to seek treatment, Renascentis helped me learn to listen. It was extremely difficult because at first I did not want to hear all the things I had been hiding from. I had taught myself to run away from my problems instead of stand up to them, like I now do. Renascentis guided me through these growing pains patiently and with kindness, but never making a change for me. They respect the autonomous aspect of personal growth which is an integral part of long term recovery.
After so many years of struggle and sickness, one can forget that life is about more than just “making it”. It is almost comical to remember that we are capable and worthy of joy, love and adventure. I am so thankful to have found Renacentis and to their staff for helping to find within me the spark and discipline to live the life that I choose and adore, happily. ”
